Muscat city tour
Old Muscat is certainly one of the most attractive cities in the Gulf region and relatively small by modern standards. Some of the buildings date back to the 16th Century when Portuguese occupied
this part of Arabia. Our tour begins in the morning with a visit to Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque that has a remarkable architectural achievement.
After the Mosque we head back to the old parts of the City and start by Muttrah Corniche, visiting the fish souk and Muttrah souk (Arabian market place), this is a real souq with winding alleys and backstreets and stalls selling gold, frankincense and myrrh, and all manner of textiles, jewellery, traditional Omani perfumes , souvenirs and
antiques.
Visit Bait Al Zubair museum, the museum has Oman’s finest and most comprehensive collections of antiques from all over the Sultanate.
After the Museum we will take a walk in the old city of Muscat. The smallest capital of the world, you will have a chance to see the Al Alam palace, the working place of Sultan Qaboos still sourrounded by the famous Jalali and Minari forts build by the Portougues. The rest of the day at leisure to absorbe the mystical atmosphere of Muscat
